In the past Transformers and G.I. Joe have shared a universe on more than one occasion. I’ve covered all of the comics and elements of the cartoons were shared between them and two other Hasbro lines turned cartoons, Inhumanoids and surprisingly Jem (namely Geraldo Rivera ripoff Hector Ramirez, while other characters bounced between Transformers and G.I. Joe. While Paramount and Hasbro’s “All-Spark Studios” have no plans to merge them together in movie form, Spinoff Online reports plans for the special mission force to share a universe with other planned movies based on MASK, Micronauts, ROM: Spaceknight, and…Visionaries? Okay, wait, Matt Trakker DID show up in the G.I. Joe toy franchise at one point as part of some anniversary (but Sgt. Slaughter and the Street Fighter game characters were properly included back during the “A Real American Hero days) so there is a precedence and I don’t see where the Joes and Mobile Armored Strike Kommand couldn’t get along, but Micronauts? Rom? VISIONARIES?
Look, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is awesome and all and I kind of like that they’re considering more movies for Transformers and Star Wars to take different looks at the universe, but how the heck do the Visionaries, who exists in a post-apocalyptic magic and tech world, fit in with any of these guys. I could even buy Rom and the Micronauts. Both had successful Marvel comics runs and were part of the Marvel universe (and still are even if they can’t appear, like Godzilla.) But this is just pushing things, guys. What’s next, adding in Furby? The Battle Beasts?

I can see how a M.A.S.K. live action movie would be very popular. There’s lots of potential for reviving various cartoons of the 70s, 80s, and 90s into live action movies.

There is a group that have been pushing for a M.A.S.K. movie. However, with Hollywood’s current track record (Jem being the latest crime against childhood) I think we’re better off without it.

After picking up two Visionaries back issues earlier this year in 2017 and also watching some Visionaries cartoon footage on Youtube, I can now say that I would be very interested in seeing a Visionaries movie. As a kid, while reading my Thundercats comic books from STAR, I would see Visionaries listed in the subscription list, but I never got into them and never saw the cartoon in the 80s either. It’s too bad that Visionaries didn’t have more comic book issues and more cartoons. Hey, seeing the Visionaries in a modern movie would be a spectacular thing. I’d check it out.
