The reason there’s no new modern Christmas shows about saving Christmas is that most people in America just care about buy, buy, buy and get, get, get when it comes to the Christmas season. The overwhelming consumerism associated with Christmas is disgusting. At least with your Captain Yuletide yearly comics, you’re trying to recapture the magic of past Christmas specials. I do know what you mean about researching the lore. For instance, I’ve been researching about Irish monks just in case I do decide to create an Irish Monk comic strip for the St. Patrick’s Day season. Just like Christmas, the true spirit of Saint Patrick’s Day in America has been overwhelmed by themes such as heaving drinking and partying. That’s not what the magic and spirit of St. Patrick’s Day is supposed to be about, people. Maybe my Irish Monk comic strip could help folks remember that.
