Yes, tell me again how unrelatable Superman is because he’s so powerful.

It’s true. Logan’s back and now his claws can get white hot. How? Why?

“The way I think of it in my head and the way I’ve described it in scripts to Steve (McNiven) is you’ve got a blacksmith who is working with metal on his or her anvil and it can be red hot, yellow hot, white hot, all of that stuff and Logan can do that now. If Logan comes at you and his claws are heated up and blazing you’re in big trouble.”

“I thought this was a real opportunity to do things that would make him feel new and fresh in a way; if you come back from the dead, it should mean something. One of the outwardly physical manifestations of that is that now, from time to time, his claws—once they’re popped—they can heat up. They can get really hot.”

First of all, Charles Soule, if someone who’s virtually unkillable is lunging at me with giant metal claws ready to carve me up, I’m already in big trouble. You really think making them also catch fire is going to make that big a difference? And how exactly can he do that now? His mutant power involves the “healing factor” and claws (the enhanced senses are a byproduct I think and the reflexes come from decades of training a virtually immortal body that apparently now doesn’t even know when to stay dead) so how do you add “making the artificial adamantium coating catch on fire” to that. Or do the bone claws now heat up, and what does that do to the adamantium? Or did he lose that again? They just keep piling on the reasons for me to hate Logan, don’t they?

In happier news, this week’s Clutter Report goes over the next Quick Change combiner team, the tool bots. I have more Quick Change knockoffs but only two more combiner teams so I should be done with this set soon. I am trying to alternate between actual project though.

I’m doing two DC Comics a week between mainstream and DCAU universes so why not give Marvel a brief bonus? Recently I reviewed the MegaMorphs minicomics, based on Toy Biz’s oversized robot superhero toys, but I haven’t reviewed the regular miniseries, which I do own. So I’ll be starting with that miniseries in the Wednesday spot. Also on Wednesday my friend Sean still insists I read new comics, but since MASK and Robotech were both busts he went to another “nostalgia” series that he knew I already liked, IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I’m starting on #80, which is supposedly just after Krang’s trial. All I know from the Free Comic Book Day comic that preceded that arc is that Krang was defeated, Splinter took over the Foot, and Raphael and Alophex are finally together. I don’t know what’s changed since then so if anyone wants to fill in some gaps after the review (I want to see what I can figure out on my own first) feel free to do so.

This will be surrounded by two pilot reviews, Big Hero 6: Baymax Returns and Cloak And Dagger, which will confuse me because I also have the old 80s movie on my DVR with Dabney Coleman and Henry Thomas I’ve never watched completely through so there’s a Finally Watched in the future. The show is a new take on Marvel’s superhero duo but I wonder if we’ll see any actual superheroing in this one based on the trailers. And of course we continue The Death And Life Of Superman on Monday and BW’s Best Friday Night Fights on Friday. Saturday Night Showcase returns, but I’m going to a webseries this time instead of an 80s show. Have a good week everyone!
