Robin is starting to get down about the crime in Gotham. He’s heard of the days of weird costumes and strange crimes (as in the Golden and Silver Age adventures) as well as how he never sees anything permanent from the heroes’ victories. Nightwing and Batgirl try to help out by pretending to be the kind of wacky criminals he’s heard about, but Tim sees right through them. Then a chance encounter with someone who isn’t them allows Robin a chance to see some real good out of his actions. But Alfred may have played a part in that.
What they got right: Man did I need a fun story this week. I like Nightwing and Batgirl’s attempts (and the costumes, even if they don’t work) and even Robin appreciated that they cared. I kind of want to hear Efrem Zimbalist Jr. playing “Cloro Phil”.
What they got wrong: But there is part of me that wish Phil had been real. Odd as the timing would be and as funny as the ending is it had more to it when I thought it was the real thing as much as Tim did.
Recommendation: This is the kind of fun I wish superhero comics would do more often. Definitely pick up a copy!
