A Garfield Christmas, like Charlie Brown before him, led to more animated specials, and later his own series, Garfield and Friends. That series would team the famous fat cat with Jim Davis’s other comic strip creation, U.S. Acres (known in some parts of the world as Orison’s Farm), a strip surrounding Orson the pig and his barnyard pals. The late Lorenzo Music performed the title character, and he would go on to be considered the voice of Garfield for many fans.
Lorenzo is also famous for being the original voice of Peter Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters, a character performed by Bill Murry in the original movie. Fittingly, Murry would also play Garfield in two live-action movies, although those movies aren’t always fan favorities.
