Say it isn't so, Mr. Stan. Say it isn't so!

I’ve been catching the Spidey strip online, since my local paper of choice doesn’t carry it. Well, guess what’s in the last panel of today’s comic.

Please, please tell me it’s not what I think it is! This is the last bastion for a happy Parker marriage (outside of a short story in Amazing Spider-Man Family, and Spider-Girl, a comic Marvel keeps trying to drop like a bad habit). Please don’t fail us, Stan. You’re our only hope. I suppose alternately it could just be the return of Harry Osborn, but not knowing his place in the strip previously I wouldn’t mind that as much.

And just yesterday I was wishing him a happy birthday. He does still write this strip, right? Tune in tomorrow for the good/bad news, kids.

Just think of this as my way of saying, ‘SCREW YOU MARVEL!’

I’m still holding out hope until tomorrow. But only because it’s Stan.

To be honest, I kinda liked the loser schmuck Parker of the 70s better, but this hamfisted retcon crap has GOT TO STOP. They married the guy, and that should be the end of it…

They’ve wrecked all their properties almost beyond repair with all this obsessive, gimmicky retconning and bizarre, out-of-character behavior/stories like the ‘knock-‘er-up’ Steve Rogers, ‘Denis-Leary-fan Castle’ and ‘devil-lovin’ Parker’ of recent years.
