A little note before I start the listing stuff. Each week ComiXology will e-mail me my pull list. (If you were using the service, they’d do it for you, too. It’s free, so go for it. And no, they don’t pay me, but they’re welcome to.) In this week’s list are two comics that I didn’t see in the store the last time; Maximum Ride Volume 1 and Star Trek: Countdown, interestingly two comics that I wasn’t sure I was going to get, but wanted to check out. There’s also a signed variant of The Greatest American Hero#1, but I don’t know what’s going to happen there, and I didn’t think I clicked on that variant. So while those three are back up in the air, here are the ones I’m definately getting (so long as they came in).
Doctor Who: The Forgotten #6 {IDW}
The final chapter of the best Doctor Whocomic story is coming. I can’t push this enough, especially to fellow Whovians. And according to the preview, the Doctor is getting by with a little help from ALLof his friends. If Lee does as good in the finale as he’s done during the rest of the story, he’ll not only end with a bang, but surpass Russel T. Davies. I’ve also seen a preview pic (hope I’m allowed to link to his photobucket posting–maybe if I link to his blog as well?) that makes me happy.
Marvel Adventures: The Avengers #32 {Marvel}
This comic never fails to make me happy. And right out of the “good ol’ days” comes the heroes work for the IRS to pay off their taxes story. Ordinarily, this story just wouldn’t work, but in the hands of Marvel Adventures and Paul Tobin? Odds favor this.
The Transformers: Revenge..Fallen Prequel: Defiance #1 {IDW}
Another prequel series for the new Transformers movie, this one takes place in the distant past, before the war over the All-Spark cube. Frankly, we don’t get enough pre-war stories in the Transformers multiverse (the only one that comes to mind right now is the recent Spotlight: Blurr comic), and I do find it interesting to see what Cybertronian society was like before war became a way of life, although these Transformers do differ from their multiversal counterparts. It should still be interesting.
So will they live up to expectations? Will any of the other three be included? Find out Sunday (barring circumstances–stupid Winter).
