Game OverThinker on comics, games, and kids

This one has been in my Favorites since “Moviebob” first posted it. Game OverThinker is a series of commentaries about the video game industry and gamers. He’s definately a gamer himself, but at the same time he’s a realist.  Now a lot of his videos (like the one I’m posting tonight because I didn’t get to what I wanted to post tonight) have “mature language” (meaning he curses a lot, so be forewarned before hitting play), and we may not be on the same wing of the social/political airplane, but his postings make a lot of sense and I would urge all gamers to check out his YouTube page or his blog.

In this video he makes a good point about the potential downfall of video games by looking at the comic book industry and their sad attempts to emulate the wrong parts of Watchmen or Grand Theft Auto and leaving younger comics/gamers in the dust.

I would also note that some of the best stuff from DC and Marvel these days comes from Johnny DC and Marvel Adventures, and last I heard, the Wii is still burying XBox and Playstation in sales and are hard to find in stores, mostly by catering to the very “causal gamers” the other systems ignore and “hardcore gamers” complain about. That’s why I want a Wii. However, even if I could find one I can’t afford it right now. 😦
