When your a Transfan (as in Transformers), you have to be used to multiple realities. I don’t mean just today, with the Unicron Trilogy, live-action movies, and Animated. Even in the good old days, you had the comic and cartoon realities. (Plus the UK comics, which often seemed to be in yet another universe.) Attempts have been made to reconcile the two, but it just doesn’t work. And I don’t have a problem with that.
Nobody tries to merge, for example, Spider-Man with the live action series, cartoons, movies, or the original Electric Company, plus the manga and current Adventures series. So why shouldn’t Transformers have a multiverse of their own?
Out of this multiverse can come some real good fanprojects, from fanfics to fancomics to tonight’s entry–a fan made CGI series that claims to be ready to finally give us episode 2.
Transformers: Redemption takes place in a universe where Optimus Prime lost and died, a group of Decepticon decendents have taken over Cybertron and plan to “cleanse” it of sinners–namely Autobots–and things haven’t looked bleaker for our heroes. However, between all the traitors and perceived traitors, a light may be shining.
Contrary to what the credits said, there was no episode 2 in 2004. However, Studio Draken has put up a trailer for episode two.
I’ll be looking forward to the next episode. However, I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be May Third or March Fifth, since I don’t know what order he’s using. The visuals look a lot cleaner, so if the story holds up this will at least be worth the wait.
