Another week, another potential winter-related delay in getting my comics tomorrow, but I still have comics coming. And those comics are…
Marvel Adventures: The Avengers #33 [Marvel]
COVER BY: Roger Cruz WRITER: Paul Tobin PENCILS: Ig Guara LETTERED BY: Dave Sharpe
When dinosaurs drop in on downtown New York, it’s only the beginning of the Avengers’ headaches. Ka-Zar, guardian of the Savage Land is in town, and Earth’s Mightest Heroes are about to become Earth’s Mighest Driving Instructors. There’s also a super villain to smash, but I’m laying odds the preview has already shown me this week’s Best Scene of the Week winner.
The Transformers: Maximum Dinobots #3 [IDW]
Written by Simon Furman, art by Nick Roche, covers by Roche and Marcelo Matere
I’m one of those suckers who will buy any comic with Transformers in the title. This and the upcoming Coda series fills the gap before All Hail Megatron, so I kind of feel the need to buy it. I’m not a big fan of Furman’s version of the Transformers, and as I’ve said before, Nick Roche does a good job with choreography but I’m not a fan of his character models. I don’t think anything’s going to change, but it’s Transformers. Speaking of which…
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Prequel – Alliance #3 [IDW]
Written by Chris Mowry, art by Alex Milne, cover by Milne and Josh Nizzi
In Transfandom (as in Transformers) there are only two points of view: those who love the live-action movie, and those who consider it an abomination on the very name Transformers. Anybody middle of the road has long since perished in the wars between the two. I have my issues, but I’m one of the fans, and I have liked the prequels thus far. May this continue with this issue. Starscream’s going to meet some new friends. Bet they won’t be friends of ours.
So what are YOU reading this week?
