The Legend of Zelda was not only a video game and the Friday toon of The Super Mario Brothers Super Show, but also a comic. Valiant produced the series as part of the “Nintendo Comics System”, and included few of the animated elements or look. For some odd reason, most of the comics had two stories an issue. But the action (and Link’s unfulfilled desire to get a kiss from Zelda) still brings us tonight’s fight.

Little known fact: there are actually four Triforces: Power, Wisdom, Courage, and Spacebooger!

Friday Night Fight: One Panel of Pain!

The Battlefield: The Legend of Zelda #2 [Valiant, June 1990]

The Promoters: See panel–for some reason, all the Nintendo comics didn’t have the usual credits, but instead had the names on the side without telling you who did what.

FNF: Opp Round 5

Bagu helps Link find his seat...which should be in his chest by now.

Cliff Notes: This isn’t actually an attack. More like roughhousing. Bagu is Link’s friend from the hero’s “second quest”. (aka Zelda II: The Adventure of Link on the NES), and he’s come for a visit. Actually, he’s come to steal the Triforce of Wisdom, since Gannon has his pet frogs hostage and Bagu doesn’t know how powerful the Triforce actually is.
