It’s a good thing I re-read this Empire interview with Mark Millar. At first, all I saw was…

Mark Millar wants to create an epic 8-hour screen story which will follow the entire life of Kal-El from his birth on Krypton a thousand years ago, until he is the last being left on Earth.

Luckily, he actually wants to do a Lord of the Rings style trilogy (what is it with Hollywood and trilogies?) which features..why don’t I let him tell you.

“I want to start on Krypton, a thousand years ago, and end with Superman alone on Planet Earth, the last being left on the planet, as the yellow sun turns red and starts to supernova, and he loses his powers.”

Um…what? A movie set during the last days of Krypton might be interesting, and he doesn’t really say what he wants for the second movie, but now we want him to be immortal, too? Never mind the fact that he’s forgotten more superpowers than the average super hero, we have to add a new one? It’s just as bad an idea as that Superman 2000 concept (which I should rally about some week…nice costume design, though). At least he isn’t going for a Richard Donner reunion movie.

I halfway wish he’d do this, I’m running out of things to make snide comments about.
