Sucka Punch edition

Rounds 1-6

So what is the sucka punch?

Bully, the rules will be the same, actually. Cats will drop a punch via email to me between 6PM and 10PM EST on Friday night and I will link them sometime after 11PM EST.

Now that I think of it, if the post doesn’t explicitly have to do with Friday Night Fights, it likely won’t be added to the mix (looks at Hasseloff)!!!

I was nice before, but, I told ya’ll — it’s personal.

That’s all we got. Just more of the same. The real gimmicks haven’t started yet. But who needs them? This was the early time, and like the Transformers, the gimmick was just in the existence. Because it’s so long, and we have two weeks until the next fight, I’m going to split this up into two installments. So what still exists, and which of them are my favorites?  Let’s start with our first six rounds…

Round 1

• Mark brought the movie, who brought the popcorn?
• I have no idea what’s happening here, but I like it.
• I’m not sure which I fight I like more, but I know which one disturbs me more.
• The fact that I know that won’t hurt a woman…means I don’t want to know…
• Later, he endured a forced body waxing.
• And Chris of Mini-Marvels fame won’t let him live it down.
• Godzilla = instant favorite
• A strong yet femine female character? In a comic?
• War of the Worlds was real. I knew it!
• Sure everyone posts this, but it never gets old.
• As directed by J.J. Abrams.
• Interestingly, this is how he later died…until he got better.
• This is why Plastic Man is better than you.
• Bully found a Fantastic Four comic I actually want to read?

Round 2

• Man-Thing fights bear. What more do you need to know?
• Hulk versus tree. Like I said…
• Batman also knows Wire-Fu.
• Gladiator’s a movie critic now.

Round 3

• Kara learns who was behind Cosmic Adventures being a mini-series.
• Spoiler: Captain American wins!
• What, again in the same tournament?
• Splooge!
• …but you’re no lady!
• Shield versus fist. Fist loses.

Round 4

• More for the commentary than the actual fight.
• I consider this payback for Alex and the fridge!
• Giant dragon versus giant statue.
• Just once, I’d like to see a clown that fights crime!
• I’m not sure who I’m supposed to root for here.
• Or here.
• Double team victory!
• Bully’s right…she is fun!
• Forget the fight…what is he wearing?

Round 5

• Kyle should have “ringed” up Jackie Chan!
• Now THAT’S how the Vision brings the smackdown!
• Still doesn’t get old.
• Matt Groening presents The Avengers.
• THIS is a Batman comic!
• I swear I see this one a lot, too.
• It’s just a jacket!
• Who says Cassandra can’t be used well?
• Animated cheesecake.
• Happy Birthday from Judge Dredd.
• It’s the anticipation that gets you.
• This is why Deadpool isn’t allowed at AA meetings.

Round 6

• Superhero weddings never go well.
• Batman versus bear. You’ve already clicked it, haven’t you?
• I only enjoy it because I hate the Punisher even more than Wolverine.
• I’m not even sure how to describe this.
• This is how Nightcrawler should be written.
• I’m rooting for the ninjas. They may be evil, but they’re ninjas and he’s Wolverine.
• “Why should the fire have all the fun?”
• Rhino samurai for the win.
