I hope you all went and voted for the Fight Music Grand Champion. So now we sit and wait for the next fight theme. But until Spacebooger gives us our next marching orders, it’s time to go Bahlactus to the Future, no Mr. Fusion required. We have the second half of the “Knockout” competition waiting to be picked through to find the best of what’s still linkable. So fasten your seat belts, kids! Like the first 6 rounds, I’ll post the one that won the free comic, even if it isn’t one of my favorites.

Knockout rounds 7-12

Round 7

• Who says Wasp and Ant-Man can’t kick butt?
• When Speedball tells you not to headbutt him, it’s really for your own good.
• I don’t know if this is cute or disturbing. (it’s unflipped manga, remember to read right to left)
• Another “before DC ruined Mary Marvel” moment.
• Whole lot of “sockin'” going on.
• Heroes NOT fighting? In a Marvel Comic? During Civil War?
• Because sometimes you just want to see Colossus knock the Juggernaut on his keister.
• And the winner: I think Chris Sims is secretly stalking Batman.

Round 8

• I think this featured my first comment made at the now lamented Comic Coverage.
• Speaking of Mr. Sims, who wants to bet that he’d love this as a poster?
• DC’s lawyers take no prisoners!
• And the winner: Batman joins Obama’s “death panel”.

Round 9

• You don’t know how many times I’ve wanted to do this while playing Ninja Gaiden.
• Wonder Woman doesn’t do “harem girl”!
• Aquaman has a message for his critics.
• Who am I not to draw in Batroc fans to push my readership? Besides, two other participants used this fight, too.
• I’m not sure who I’m supposed to be rooting for, Guy or Hal?
• The fight that inspired one of the best Justice League Unlimited episodes ever
• Robin versus everybody. Robin wins!
• And the winner: Even I can take a better hit than that.

Round 10

• One of the reasons I’m going to miss Marvel Adventures: The Avengers.
• Not much of a fight, but what a villain design!
• How do you describe this to someone?
• And the winner: The most deserving winner of the tourney!

Round 11

• The Batman/Dr. Light fight isn’t half as interesting as the awesome costume work.
• Never mess with a baby Amazon!
• And the winner: Please tell me that WASN’T a dream sequence!

Round 12

• Thor has no trouble pulling a crocodile’s teeth, either.
• I have a sudden urge to get this comic.
• Ladies and gentlemen, the dumbest crook Batman’s ever fought.
• I should study the “Monkey King” legend more.
• And the winner was a blog called Ninja Shark Bites, but the site keeps coming up Conditional Axe. Either way, there’s no post to link to.

And thus the final Knockout has been given, and we say goodbye to the originator of the FNF. Next week, we should be starting a brand new tournament? What will it be? Only Spacebooger knows as I write this. The next “Best of” will feature the Classics Edition tournament, which turns 4 color into 2 colors, black and white.
