Three trailers for three upcoming video games I’ll probably want. The first is a new non-movie based Transformers game, War For Cybertron.
I’m having trouble figuring out which generation they’re going with here. The only Transformer we get a decent look at appears to be Optimus Prime, but his vehicle mode looks like the War Within/Titanium version, and his robot mode leans more towards the Animated version (between the chest and the axe), but in a more “realistic” style. It’s just a teaser now, but I’m curious to see what they have planned.
The next is the sequel to a game I haven’t been able to get yet, but put on my Christmas list, Batman: Arkham Asylum.
According to G4TV.com, this game will be produced by Rocksteady Games, and not Edios Interactive (recently purchased by Square Enix). This would give Warner Brothers (who also owns DC) a closer connection to the game, which doesn’t always end well. We’ll see what happens.
It should be no surprise that I’m a fan of the movie Tron, so obviously I know about the sequel movie coming out. (It should also be no surprise that I have yet to finish the Tron 2.0 game that I bought years ago. There are NES games I haven’t finished. I’m talking Super Mario Brothers games, people!) Well, there’s a game “prequel” coming out for Tron Evolution. That also shouldn’t surprise you.
Movie tie-in games are seldom any good, but Tron has a good history, going as far back as the original movie. So we’ll see if that streak continues.
