After a flashback that probably spoiled more of the first Mass Effect game for me, Liara and Feron (who freelances for the Shadow Broker) continue their search for Shepard’s body. The search takes them back to “The Afterlife” bar to find Aria, who knows almost everything that happens on Omega, including where Shepard’s body is being transferred to the Shadow Broker’s top agent, Tazzik. Liara attempts to reclaim the body, but a mistake (if it was one) by Feron allows him to escape with the body.
What they got right: Beautiful artwork, and a great story even if I hadn’t played the game. They’re still doing a good job of skirting the gender issues and Liara’s relationship to Shepard, since both depend on how you play the game.
What they got wrong: I can’t think of anything. All is connected to the game, and that includes the story.
Recommendation: Even if you haven’t played the game (unless you plan to play #1 and don’t want to spoil the fixed events), I can easily recommend this comic.
