The Incredibles #5

Boom! Kids (December 2009–IS ANYBODY AT BOOM PAYING ATTENTION HERE?)

WRITERS: Mark Waid & Landry Walker

ARTIST: Marcio Takara

COLORS: Andrew Dalhouse

LETTERER: Troy Peteri

EDITOR: Aaron Sparrow

COVER “A” (shown): Ramanda Kamarga

COVER “B”: Clint Hilinski

Dash goes to Edna Mode for help against the aliens. She leads him to her secret lair (insert questionable joke here) and equips him. Violet is able to find him, and he is able to find the aliens…in control of Bob and Helen! They snag Dash, but it’s Violet to the rescue!

What they got right: The return of Edna Mode! In all her Edna Mode-y goodness! Yes, the story is good, the mystery works, I like the Spider-Man homage for the “A” cover, Dash gets a jetpack, and the art continues it’s excellence, but EDNA MODE! I thought having a Dash-centered story was awesome enough. This is like whipped cream on chocolate ice cream!

What they got wrong: Weren’t you paying attention! EDNA MODE IN A DASH-FOCUSED STORY! Could Landry Walker get that wrong? Could even Mark Waid get that wrong? I don’t think so!

Recommen..forget that! EDNA. MODE. Dash-focused story where he gets a jetpack. Landry Walker. You shouldn’t have to ask! But just to be sure, GET THIS NOW!

Edna, never stop being you!
