With the others gone, it falls to Amy, Antoine, Bunny, and Geoffrey to defend Knothole. The Iron Legion is rounding up the few remaining Mobians, including Rotor, and “Legionizing” them, a process worse that roboticizing. Our heroes attempt to free their friends, but they’re walking right into a Legion trap…at least until Sonic, Tails, Sally, and Ken return! Plus, the return of Robotnik’s sanity!
What they got right: It’s nice to see that the Freedom Fighters can hold their own without Sonic or Sally, even though they happen to be the edge in doing more than stalemating.
What they got wrong: Wit the current Sonic Universe arc supposedly setting up the events for later issues, one would think this story would have lasted longer, and switched places with Universe, so that Sonic could gather allies in the main comic while the Freedom Fighters are spotlighted in the other. Plus Sonic returns here before he’s done there. That messes things up a bit.
Recommendation: I’ve read one reviewer that was unhappy with Rotor’s treatment by the writer, but I haven’t seen him used much and he’s been doing a good job with the rest of the characters. I say give it a look.
Later today: The winner of “Best Scene” in the Weekly Wrap-Up.
Monday’s Comic: Transformers: Bumblebee #4, because I had to read that first, alphabetical be slagged!
