Don’t get me wrong. I’m not actively trying to offend anyone. Then again, it does seem to be a sign that you “made it” as a commentary strip if you offend some group. But between this and the “girl gamer” comic a couple weeks ago, I’m totally asking for trouble. Click the comic to see the origin of this joke (such as it is) and maybe you’ll understand my inspiration.
In the meantime, here are some interesting stories from this week.
comics
- J. Michael Strazcyski will soon be the new writer of Superman and Wonder Woman. This will not go well at all with the Wonder Woman fans who love Gail Simone’s version. And the Comic Book Resources article won’t change things.
- And because I (apparently) haven’t bashed DC enough this week, here’s Dwayne McDuffie getting screwed over again. This time it’s questionable changes to the quotes in Milestone Forever #2.
- And so Marvel doesn’t feel left out, why are you firing Peter Parker! Again!
- As much grief as I and other comic bloggers give Kevin Smith, which he deserves, the length he’s going to in order to get the Green Hornet comic out there is pretty cool. (Depending on your opinion of the book. Haven’t read it myself.)
- Hey, Professor X: steampunk style!
- ComiXology’s Jason Thompson takes a look at incest in manga. Insert Ultimate Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch comment here.
- Main series versus mini-series. The Weekly Crisis takes a look at which is better for a particular story.
television/movies
- A new trailer for Iron Man 2 shows how the “briefcase armor” works. Rather well, it turns out. Please don’t let this movie suck.
- Ben Grimm, the ever-loving, blue eyed Thing, at the Oscars? Sort of.
- In the previews for the new Hasbro/Discovery Networks “The Hub” venture, we got a trailer and a possible sighting of Bumblebee’s new design in the rumored animated series dubbed Transformers: Prime.
video games
- Because I loves me some more Transformers, Transformers World 2005 had a chance to check out a beta for Activision’s War For Cybertron. Sadly, they didn’t get to play it themselves.
in other news
- A war over the “EXIT” sign. Because world governments have nothing better to do, I guess.
- This Week’s Cracked: 5 Authors More Badass than the Badass Character They Created: Because sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction. James Bond has nothing on his “daddy”, Ian Fleming.

The Incredibles #6

"On the other hand, you did clear my sinuses."
Because you can never go wrong with that. Something a little less time-consuming lighter planned for this week. Hope you stick around.
