With the Torino family putting the heat on Spider-Man, Spidey’s decided to turn the heat on them, and is going after a crooked judge under the family’s employ. During all this, Gwen is trying to figure out more about Spider-Man for a class assignment she calls “Gwenterviews” (I would wish I was kidding, but I wouldn’t want to be responsible for that pun), which she hopes the Bugle will also carry. With a little help from Chat, Spidey is able to expose the judge and wrap up even more of the Torino mobsters.

What they got right: It really doesn’t feel like a new comic. It’s just a continuation of the last issue. This is a good thing, since Marvel pulling the renumber gimmick is just plain stupid. It’s interesting to see how others view Spider-Man, and Tobin makes good use of Peter’s personal life as well as how it affects Spider-Man (such as how he and Chat save the day). And am I glad Chat is still around. This must be the case for many more issues to come. The best part is actually the artwork, which does a fantastic job with the fight scenes.

What they got wrong: Being this Gwen focused is a personal gripe. “Gwenterviews” is not. Also, stop teasing us with the Bullseye vs. Spidey fight and get on with it already! But the real “got wrong” goes to Marvel. Did this title honestly needed a renumbering? Seriously?

Recommendation: Hey, kids, remember when Spider-Man was fun? When there were no deals with the devil, enemies in the government, dead guys coming back to life because the writers really want to right those characters, or having their happy endings revoked because those same writers wanted to write them when they were evil? Here you go.

As for a “Best Scene”, I couldn’t choose one. All the fight scenes were worthy, and there are a lot of fight scenes.
