In the “Ben 10: Ultimate Alien” story, Julie is kidnapped with the Ultramatrix as ransom. In the “Generator Rex” story, Rex and Bobo are sent to distract Van Kleiss while Six takes out one of the villain’s Evo-creating operations.

What they got right: Min S. Ku proves here that he can draw BOTH Man of Action characters very well. (Is he on the team?) Unlike last issue, there are only two stories, and the comic is better for it. Black’s “Ben 10” offering is an improvement over last issue, proving that at least half a comic is much better than 1/3 of it. Hoegee & Son (not Hoegee’s son, mind you) give us the “Generator Rex” story, and while I’ve only had a chance to catch the first episode, everything seems to match up.

What they got wrong: The bad guys in the Ben 10 story are a punk rocker, a scientist, and a circus strongman? How did they get together? Also, the solicits claimed this was a team-up story, and while I would like to see both “Man of Action” properties in a team-up story, they do not in fact team up. I don’t like when solicts lie.

Recommendation: Fan of either or both show? Grab this comic (well, pay for it before you leave the store with it). I think you’ll like it.

I thought fun came from blowing the stuff up yourself?

I couldn’t decide between the two. Considering I couldn’t even find one worthy of an award, I figure we’ll boost our possibilities this week.
