The Muppet Show #6
BOOM Kids! (May 2010)
WRITER/COVER: Roger Langridge ARTIST: Amy Mebberson COLORIST: Eric Cobain LETTERER: Deron Bennett ASSISTANT EDITOR: Jason Long EDITOR: Aaron Sparrow DESIGNER: Erika Terriquez (Cover “B” shown)
A strange woman is taking notes around the Muppet Theater, and Skeeter is convinced that she’s here to take Robin to an orphanage. Robin is feeling a bit under appreciated at the moment, and agrees to let Skeeter help him get away, but a chance meeting under a bridge convinces him to return home, to learn that he’s loved after all.
Skits include Great Gonzo, a mimed “Death of a Salesman” in 6 panels, Wayne & Wanda, Pigs in Space, and a closing number featuring Robin, Kermit, and the Electric Mayhem going acoustic.
What they got right: I’m going to keep saying this until Boom makes them the permanent team: Roger really gets how the characters act and Amy gets how they look. Between the two of them, this feels like the Muppets in comic form.
What they got wrong: Since I need to put something here, I’ll just reiterate god-like Staldor and Waldorf and the usual “songs don’t work in comic form” rants.
Recommendation: I’ll buy and recommend this series even when Roger returns to story AND art, but with Amy on art? Double recommendation!

What can you add to that?
