And so we say goodbye to the Marvel War story arc, and return to the good ol’ Jake & Leon you all know and ignore. Next week we return to the done-in-one strips, and bring back our new character, Fizzben. This part was fun and all, but I think it’s going to be a while before I do another arc. It doesn’t quite fit in with the strip’s usual theme, but I got something useful out of it (for what, click the comic), so there’s that.
Since I already devoted most of last week to NYCC, I didn’t really read through everything else in my RSS Feeds. On the other hand, there are newsletters that I’ve signed up for from a few news and opinion sites that I haven’t kept track of, so let’s clean out the old inbox, shall we?
Comics
- Anyone want a free comic? Greg Pak is offering a free download of his new comic, Vision Machine. I haven’t had the chance to read it just yet, but I’ll let you know what I think.
- A look at Captain America’s “retro” costume from an upcoming miniseries.
- From the “Duke Nukem’ ‘Took Them Long Enough‘ Department”, Batman: Europa.
- Break out the Bat-Editor, Robin.
Television/Movies
- Video game creator Will Wright is taking his style to a television show.
- The latest news and rumors about the next Superman movie. (No, not the porno. Screw that garbage, pun intended.)
Video Games
- A gamer comes to a startling revelation about her gaming style..that it’s more fun with others.
- A review of Game Dev Story, an iPhone/iPad game about a game development studio.
- Kotaku.com takes a look at cinematic cutscene phenom (never thought you’d hear that, did you folks?) Blur Studios.
In Other News
- A cosplay scandal at New York Comic-Con.
- No Clutter Report this week. I had some straightening up to do that would have been too boring for an article.
- This Week’s Cracked: I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this…actually, it’s 6 Ridiculous History Myths (You Probably Think Are True) telling you this…but cowboys didn’t have gun orgies, there is probably more mass suicide when “Everybody Hurts” plays over the radio that there was during the stock market crash, the feminists aren’t mass-burning bras (sorry, guys), America didn’t actually have a super huge panic from a radio drama…wait, you mean there ARE intelligent people on this planet? And there’s still two more to go!

The Phantom: Generations Special

Tomorrow’s Comic> Batman Beyond #5, along with an article tomorrow night on why this series has yet again failed miserably. Maybe they just decided “the heck with it, if bad press is just fine with us, let’s just go for it!” or something.

The sad part? I really think Quesada would do this himself.
