What Beaker looks like in the morning.

The Muppet Show #11

Dr. Honeydew is trying to create a mechanical Beaker to give the real Beaker a helping hand. However, all he’s doing is screwing up the theater’s power. The doctor takes a radical approach to the problem…put Beaker’s brain in the robot and a poob in Beaker’s head. This being The Muppet Show, you can guess how well that goes.

Skits include Muppet Labs (of course), a couple musical numbers, “Veterinarian’s Hospital” and another Gonzo stunt.

What they got right: Only one cover for this issue? Keep that up, Boom. Also, it’s nice to see Dr. Honeydew actually does think about Beaker’s well-being…in his usual “too wrap up in science to think straight” kind of way.

What they got wrong: I’ll keep saying it: musical numbers do now work in a comic!

Recommendation: Still approved for any Muppet fan.

I may get karate chopped for nominating this, but it's worth it. 🙂
