There are times I worry about giving someone ideas and times I'm afraid someone already has seriously. This is both.
In case you’re curious, here’s the website I used to get the look down, if you want to know what a “Guido” is. Unless you’re some guy named Guido who is nothing like that, in which case I apologize.
So what’s been going on this week?
comics
- The author of this piece calls out the Earth-One Superman that’s coming out. Also, I’ll comment on the latest JMS fiasco tomorrow.
- Hey, somebody found something NICE to say about Cyclops. I like him, too, when he’s written right and not just being Prowl to Wolverine’s Grimlock. Which reminds me I should get that next Furman File written.
- BW Fave Linkara has another new artist. This time it’s “Souzou” doing in the internal art after the previous artist had to step down due to her workload. A different artist will be handling the covers.
television/movies
- Is there a plot to block the docudrama The Path to 9/11?
- The Avengers movie is already having budget issues.
- A new Muppet is joining the cast for the upcoming movie. Could he be the Drift of the Muppet franchise?
- An upcoming movie about former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher sounds less than flattering.
- An interview with a retired soldier who consults with Hollywood on military depictions in film.
- Yes, I seem to be a bit more political this week, but consider this interview with a writer who has been snubbed for his political opinions.
- Chris Sims “finds” time travelers in other movies after a man claimed to find one in an old Charlie Chaplin film.
video games
- Instead of complaining about your kids playing video games why not play with them? It may be good for them!
- A science fiction author writes about how video games influenced his latest novel.
- Somebody already broke their TV playing a Kinect game. Do we get to be over-reactionary yet? 🙂
- Some cool free games for us PC gamers.
- The PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 (what, it’s not out yet?) will be getting an interactive comic book. It sounds like it will be “Choose Your Own Adventure” style so that Playstation 3 owners will have a backstory to carry over since they didn’t get the original game.
- Upcoming video game Homefront has one of those stories that I think Extra Credits keeps talking about. Korea is unified, evil, and controlling the United States, but the details is how it really works.
- Release date for the Kinect Star Wars game.
- Another strike against me getting a Kinect (if I had an X-Box) is that I don’t have enough room to play it.
- On the flip side, Kinect helps this one-armed man play video games again. Even his mom, who has polio, can play.
- In the “taking love of gaming to bizarre levels” department, a group of gamers have gotten 12 streets named for video games in Spain. And I think the choices lack subtlety if you ask me.
- Viacom is looking to sell off Harmonix? I thought they were doing well enough with the music game genre taking off and all.
in other news
- Because I haven’t been political enough this week 😛 , George W. Bush is asked about Kanye West. Here’s a statement I’ve been wanting to here since the rapper tried to derail the Katrina telethon to be his usual jerk self.
- The Clutter Reports: I own the PC/MS-Dos version of Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game. Find out why that’s about to change in this week’s report.
- This Week’s Cracked: Even when the hoaxer admits the Loch Ness Monster photo, the mummy’s curse, a religious order, and a famous bunch of crop circles were bunk, people still fall for 5 Myths That People Don’t Realize Are Admitted Hoaxes.
