April 3rd, 1944: Billy Simmons is forced into Sector Seven by his grandfather, Walter, because the Nazis have found a Transformer and are doing their own reverse engineering. Teamed with 6 other soldiers, Simmons drops behind enemy lines and discovers the horrible ways they’re using Transformer tech. He also learns which Transformer they have (guess, he’s only been part of all but one chronicled historical event thus far).
What they got right: It still seems odd that there has been so much Transformer influence in Earth history, but I can consider this an homage to the classic World War 2 stories where the Nazis would show up with a lot of superadvanced technology or genetic experiments.
What they got wrong: I’m giving them a pass on history revisionism (Transformer-insertion) this time, but Jetfire again? Really? Is Barber obsessed Furman-style? And another reference to the creatures and tunnels that do not need to be part of the Transformer Movieverse.
Recommendation: Calling this the best of the stories in this miniseries is damning it with faint praise. I did enjoy the story, but in spite of the rest of the issues. I still say don’t bother unless your a die hard sci-fi period piece or Transformer fan.
