If you’re wondering why the bannerhead isn’t previewing this comic’s Best Scene entry, it’s because I’m making wait until the end to see what is possibly the greatest Aunt May moment in this title, if not ever.

Peter and Chat go to the Everglades to see her cousin and his friend Dr. Connors. Secretly, she and Connors have been trying to come up with a cure for the Lizard, but accidentally trigger the change instead. Now he’s freaking out the locals and if Spidey doesn’t interfere, someone may die.

What they got right: Besides what is possibly the best Aunt May moment in this title, I do like seeing Peter and Chat working together. She is probably my favorite not-MJ romantic partner for Peter for the same reasons MJ is, because she can handle being involved with both Peter and Spider-Man. Plus, Chat is able to almost be Spidey’s crime fighting partner.

What they got wrong: It might have been nice to see Curt back to normal letting us know one way or the other if the cure indeed worked.

Recommendation: One of the better Spidey stories, and you should be reading this title regardless of whether or not you’re reading marriageless Spider-Man.
