Happy Easter, folks. I had a vague idea of what I could do for an Easter comic, but this has been a very difficult week due to things I don’t care to share with the internet, partly because I’m only indirectly affected, but it’s still personal. The only reason I had articles the past few days is because I needed the distraction. Luckily I had this one ready to be created.
Before starting this week’s news links, BW Media Spotlight would like to send congratulations to Tyler “TJOmega” James, a numerous time Saturday Night Showcase entry. Just this week it was announced that his TJTV program–and possibly his toy reviews, according to the press release–will be featured at reviewer site Reviewtopia. TJ has been hoping to get on That Guy With The Glasses.com, which for my comic readers would be the equivalent or writing for DC Comics, or for the non-comic minded perhaps appearing on Broadway.
A “WB+UPN=CW” style merger of Xtreme Network Online and the Geek Fighters, Reviewtopia not only sports some great reviewers of their own (including a couple I follow regularly) but a few of their members were later brought into the Channel Awesome family. (Let’s call them Dark Horse Comics or an off-Broadway hit.) So I have high hopes that TJ will join his friend Vangelus as a member of TGWTG soon enough. Again, congrats to Tyler. You deserve it.
And now the latest news, which with Easter festivities on the way I don’t have time to organize. Sorry.
- Coming to DVD: The Cape, the Japanese Transformers animated series Headmasters, season 2 of the excellent Warehouse 13, the classic Herculoids, and the long-awaited series to its fans (myself included) Captain Power & The Soldiers of the Future.
- In happy Doctor Who news, Fourth Doctor Tom Baker will be returning to the role in a new audio drama. Joining him will be Lella, still portrayed by Louise Jameson. By the way, I’m jealous of all of you who have BBC America, as apparently the new season of Doctor Who began this week.
- In sad Doctor Who news, however, former companion Elisabeth Sladen, who had returned as Sarah Jane Smith in The Sarah Jane Adventures, died of cancer this week.
- Bruce Timm promises to make the animated version of Batman: Year One faithful to the original comic.
- Wrestling with paper robots is cooler than it sounds.
- Could Marvel Studios be putting out movies faster than they should?
- Not every mad scientist is male.
- The Clutter Reports: I have a few more controllers to get to before I start going over my video games. However, that means a bit more reorganizing so I can reach them.
- This Week’s Cracked: You’d think that writers should be able to write anybody, especially smart people. Well, as Cracked.com found out, there are at least 5 Things TV Writers Apparently Believe About Smart People that are totally wrong, and insulting to at least someone, including smart people. Apparently, smart people just serve as another plot device.

Transformers #18

Well, Shockwave wanted a skylight.
So there’s a possibility that things don’t look right today. When I get home from Easter festivities I plan to start messing with a new WordPress theme called Mystique. We’ll see if I stay with it, but I think it will make the site look cooler and more interesting. Otherwise, hope you had a great Easter.
