That’s a lame title but I’m a little tired as I write this. I don’t think it’s Flashpoint burnout or anything, and I’m sure I’ll have more to talk about next week (at the same time I’m trying follow E3 before the following week’s thoughts…thanks for the headache, DC), but it’s the weekend and I have other things to do…like bringing the fighting.
Last time Batman and Captain America caught our attention and now that the Fights are back (we’re assuming Spacebooger didn’t leave the kids floating around in space…again) the Dark Knight is back, only he’s brought a super friend. Namely Superman. This was from the 25th issue of The Batman Adventures, the spin-off of Batman: The Animated Series. This demonstrates why writers for these spin-offs playing so close to the main universe rather than the cartoon can hit a way. Superman and Lex Luthor appear here resembling their appearances from the main DC Universe at the time. This would later be contradicted in the further DCAU when years later we would have a Superman cartoon which would end up in the same universe and feature the first meeting of Batman and Superman, with no way for this issue to fit into canon. I like to think of it as a “what if” “elseworlds” story.

Repeat Rehash Revenge round 7
The Battlefield: The Batman Adventures #25 (Early November 1994) “Super Friends” (what, you thought it was MY lame pun?)
The Promoters: Kelley Puckett (writer), the late Mike Parobeck (penciler), Rick Burchett (inker), Rick Taylor(colorist), and Starkings/Comiccraft (lettering)
Maxie Zeus, a nut criminal who actually thinks he’s Zeus reborn, has been pulling his usual shenanigans, but he’s about to have some company.

"I love he just stands there being sprayed with bullets and has a causal conversation.
Meanwhile Luthor has convinced a bunch of military guys to send in his prototype robots to stop Zeus. Of course it’s really just a huge scam to demonstrate his robots but he can’t help but try to take down the Man of Steel in the process.

If trying to kill Superman is a drug, Luthor is an addict. "I can stop trying to kill Superman any time I want to."
So Superman beats on robots, Batman beats on bad guys…

"Want to try the other way around, Batman?" "No, I'm good."
And all is right with the world.
Voting in this week’s tournament may or may not stop OUR universe from rebooting, but do you dare risk it? Maybe it would also help if you rummaged through your collection and joined us. It couldn’t hurt.
