Marvel Adventures: Spider-Man V2 #14
Marvel Comics (July 2011)
WRITER: Paul Tobin PENCILER: Matteo Lolli INKER: Terry Pallot COLORS: Sotocolor LETTERER: Dave Sharpe COVER ART: Scherberger & Delgado ASSISTANT EDITOR: Rachel Pinnelas ASSOCIATE EDITOR: Tom Brennan SENIOR EDITOR: Stephen Wacker (throw in the editor-in-chief and that’s a lot of editors for one comics)
Stacy calls Spidey and Chat in to help stop Mysterio, who has begun a spree of armored car robberies. While they do get caught in his latest, our heroes manage to overcome his illusions with a little help from one of Chat’s little friends and take down the villain.
What they got right: Take pretty much everything Tobin’s gotten right and repost it here. I can’t point to any one thing.
What they got wrong: I thought Peter was still friends with Carter, who didn’t want to follow in his family’s footsteps. I would think he would be more defensive of his relationship with Gwen.
Recommendation: A good comic to introduce you to the MA version of Spider-Man, and one I suggest getting into.
Tomorrow’s (old) Comic: If plans work out there should be something different in this week’s retro review.
