Darkwing’s first press conference announcing his run for mayor is interrupted when he must stop yet another new villain out to destroy him, Cat-Tankerous. However, he turns out to be one of Gosalyn’s classmates (with a crush on the girl) who only went nuts when he was sent the suit. We meet the person out to destroy Darkwing and his political rival. The real surprise is that Launchpad, despite not doing much, suddenly gets cheered by the press, who think he should run for mayor!
What they got right: I like that they’re trying to come up with new villains, although the villains are under influence of yet another new villain. I like that they’re expanding the gallery out a little rather than spending so much time catching up with everyone in the old cast.
What they got wrong: I’m still not sold on the whole “run for mayor” subplot of this arc. It seems unnecessary compared to a villain who brainwashes others to attack Darkwing.
Recommendation: Still a great comic that I can’t help but recommend you pick up.
