Sonic and his “new” friends continue to make their way to Robotnik’s place, with more flashes of their former lives. In yet another battle with Robotnik, the villain is thought lost, but Sonic isn’t so sure.
What they got right: They’ve said in the letter column that they aren’t leaving the past continuity behind (ahem, DC) and the references and flashes are nice to see. Otherwise all the complements this series usually gets from me is in effect.
What they got wrong: Tails is on the cover (possibly a reference to the second game) but he doesn’t show up in the story. What a letdown.
Recommendation: So far a good jump on point, even if it ends up being a stand-alone for the anniversary.
