Sato and his sons, using the Mechagodzilla, race to rescue the Elias from Takahashi. Even Godzilla himself seems to be on his side as Sato faces his arch nemesis and gains a new destiny.
I really don’t want to say anymore. While I usually end up with minor spoilers in the synopsis, this story is too good to ruin for you. I can’t even do a got right/got wrong on this one. While I’m still not a fan of the art when it comes to the humans, it’s a personal taste issue rather than being bad art, and the monsters (not counting far shots of Mechagodzilla, who looks good up close) also look nice.
Frankly, while I would call this a must for any G-Fan or fan of Layman’s work, I wouldn’t mind seeing this made into a actual Godzilla movie. I was iffy at the start, but the finish is strong enough that I very much recommend it.
