Years later, the war is long since over. Ironhide, the last surviving vet of the war, is questioning his place in the new, peaceful Cybertron. However, many still consider him a hero.
What they got right: The artwork is some of the best of the series, and it does make for a nice series finale.
What they got wrong: However, it isn’t the end of IDW’s G1-based Transformers Universe. In fact, the TWO new series taking place in this universe appear to be continuing after the end of the “Chaos” and “Last Story On Earth” arcs. Oh, and I find it interesting that the guy who once killed off Ironhide (then brought him back through the Transformers version of cloning) has now set it up that Ironhide will never be killed off by later writers without screwing up continuity. That just feels wrong. And I still don’t know what the smelter happened last issue! Finally, a static pose of Revoltech Megatron for the “A” cover and a head shot of Ironhide for the “B” cover. Lazy.
Recommendation: A decent story if you’ve been following, but not a very good final issue. Granted I’ve been lukewarm to Costa’s run on the series to begin with. I really can’t recommend coming on here. Wait until the two new series start up and see what they do.
No real Best Scene moment here, folks.
