Mega Man #8
Archie (February, 2012)
WRITER: Ian Flynn PENCILER: Chad Thomas INKER: Gary Martin COLORIST: Matt Herms LETTERER: John Workman EDITOR: Paul Kaminski COVER: Patrick “Spaz” Spaziante
Wily attempts to take control over the original Robot Masters, but Mega Man and friends are triumphant over Wily’s forces. However, Wily has escaped and is preparing his next generation of Robot Masters. (Leading into Mega Man 2 on the NES.)
What they got right: Everything they’ve gotten right thus far. The action is fun, the art is good, and while I haven’t played Powered Up I do enjoy the story and appreciate that they put this story here, as it’s where it should appear in the timeline.
What they got wrong: I hope the art team from the previous arc return as I though they were a little better, but I won’t complain if the current art team stays.
Recommendation: If you’re a Mega Man fan you should be reading this book. The next arc will adapt the second NES game and I’m looking forward to it.

Our hero, kids.
