Dang it, covers, stop lying to me!

The Mis-Adventures of Adam West #4

FINAL ISSUE

Bluewater Comics (September, 2011)

WRITER: Reed Lackey
PENCILER: V. Ken Marion
COLORIST: Kamui Ayami
LETTERER: Jaymes Reed
GRAPHICS: Darren G. Davis
COVER: Russell Dauterman
CREATORS: Adam West & Darren G. Davis

Adam fakes his death in order to get the drop on Wallis and his hired gun. Meanwhile, Robinson is able to tell him how to get out of this movie-leaping but now Adam is questioning if he wants to go. However, he does learn something interesting about the amulet just before warping again, this time finding himself old again…and in Gotham City!

What they got right: Being a miniseries to set up a full series, it was a proper ending while still prepared for the possibility that they wouldn’t get the ongoing. The story itself was as good as the previous issues.

What they got wrong: The art isn’t bad but there seems to be an overabundance of defining lines and shading that takes away from the visuals.

Recommendation: If the series (which hopefully won’t be as delayed as the last three issues of the miniseries) is as good as these four issues, this should be a good series. I think the Burt Ward and Julie Newmar spin-offs are a bit premature, but at least keep an eye out for this series.
