Independent filmmaker and That Guy With The Glasses contributor Ed Glaser is producing a new series, a parody of Godfrey Ho‘s movies. And by “movie” I mean random parts of other movies merged with a bit of his own stuff to produce a brand new movie. Also, he likes using the word “Ninja” in his title because ninjas are awesome. Last night Glaser, under his “Dark Maze Studios” branding, released a trailer for his new production with fellow TGWTG contributor and cheesy martial arts fan Brad Jones (known for The Cinema Snob and Kung Tai Ted) entitled Ninja The Mission Force.

Ninja ninja ninja…I mean, Ninja The Mission Force debuts on its own website next Thursday. You can see more of his fun homage productions at the official Dark Maze Studios website and Brad Jones’s reviews and skits at his own site.

Saw your writeup of RoboGirl, sorry NTMF didn’t seem to really float your boat once it got started with the real episodes. It’s hard to live up to that poster. 🙂 You can always comment on episodes and let us know what you didn’t like. I’m hoping for a season 2, and there’s always room for improvement. Cheers!

    • You misunderstand how Saturday Night Showcase works, but then that could be my fault. I don’t often explain it. SNS isn’t just stuff I like…most of the time. I’m actually enjoying Ninja The Mission Force very much, but it’s not inspirational to me as a writer. (Although I did get a cool idea that I shared on Twitter, so maybe it has to a point. 😀 ) I don’t think I would do anything in that style myself, and inspirations are where SNS comes in versus a filler video during the week.

I have a few Joseph Lai videos (including one I may do a video review of in the future) but that genre (if you call throwing two unrelated films together and pretending it’s one film–granted Voltron and Robotech are two of my favorite shows) doesn’t draw me in as a viewer or writer outside of Brad, Spoony, or Ed’s reviews. I am, however, enjoying Dark Maze’s tribute. You guys are doing great work and I may use episodes as filler videos if I need something during the week. Saturday Night Showcase works on different principles, which is how Robogirl qualifies. I could see me doing a story in that style.

And yes, the poster is awesome. 🙂

Sorry I misunderstood, I’ve gotta stop cruising online on zero sleep or I’d have totally gotten that, lol. I certainly hope that you get a little germ from our stuff that blossoms into a full blown infection of awesomeness. Er, you know what I mean.
