Battle of the Planets #6
Image Comics/Top Cow (February, 2002)
WRITER: Munier Sharrieff PENCILER: Wilson Tortosa COLORIST: Shane Law ART DIRECTOR/COVER ART: Alex Ross LETTERERS: Robin Spehan & Dennis Heisler EDITOR: David Wohl
In Central West, Zoltar has made his move as the entire citizenry has fallen under his spell and taken over a secret military installation. Against Tomak’s better judgement the President fully activates G-Force to investigate.
What they got right: While our heroes are overshadowed by the events in Central West, you still get a nice moment with the characters as they react to an entire city swearing loyalty to Spectra. Normally I would complain about the use of two panels per page, but some reason it works here.
What they got wrong: Well, when I have nothing to fall back to, how about returning to the fact that the covers are still nice art pieces but terrible comic book covers?
Recommendation: A bridge to the next arc, so pick it up (and the rest of the series).
