Battle of the Planets: Princess #4
Image Comics/Top Cow (February, 2005)
WRITER: David Wohl ARTIST: Wilson Tortosa COVER CO-ARTIST: Sonia Oback DESIGN/LETTERERS: Robin Spehar & Dennis Heisler
Princess begins reveling in her freedom–until she learns Keyop has been captured by the giant beetle robots that are attacking all over the world. When our heroes learn that the kids are actually inside the robots and being used to power them, Mark has to convince Red Impulse not to blow them out of the sky!
What they got right: For an adaptation with an added subplot, it’s a good story. It’s probably the best cliffhanger in this miniseries and one of the best in Top Cow’s entire run.
What they got wrong: At least acknowledge it’s loosely adapted on an actual episode. The fact that this is something I’ve harped on every issue should tell you both how much that bothers me and how little else there actually is to complain about.
Recommendation: Probably the best issue thus far in my re-read. That means I recommend it.
