Helspont tries to convince Superman to join him. Superman says no. Fight breaks out, Clark helps Jimmy over to his place because of the bedbugs, which was actually a plot point.
What they got right: I like how the humor bit from last issue was actually helpful to Superman in this part of the story. Clark is bruised, which you would never see in the usual overpowered Superman too many writers make him into.
What they got wrong: Most of the story feels like a philosophical debate, as if Giffen or Jurgens wanted to get into a discussion about what makes Superman who he is. Granted, there are more than a few writers who need that lesson but having Superman trying to convince Helspont (who still doesn’t belong debating or fighting Superman) that he isn’t interested in world domination isn’t anything I’ve heard or read before, just longer.
Recommendation: That conversation may have gone on a bit, but I kind of like the story regardless. It’s still an improvement over what we’ve gotten and it least it feels like I’m reading a Superman comic.

This is Superman. Remember it future comic, TV, and movie writers.
