There’s been some talk in the comic blogging circles I inhabit about the treatment of Hawkeye lately. New writers seem to want to write characters as they remember them, not as they’ve become. That’s why the Super and Spider-Marriages were tossed out, that’s why everyone seems to have forgotten what happened to Darkhawk past the mid-point of the series, and that’s why the guy who has commanded at least two superhero teams, and done very well at it, has devolved into a hothead who doesn’t take his job seriously.
When he isn’t being cocky he’s one of the best archer heroes in the multiverse. Leave it to a kids comic to remember that.

“Maxim” round 9
The Battlefield: Marvel Adventures: Super Heroes #14 (Marvel Comics; October, 2009)
The Promoters: Paul Tobin (writer), David Baldeon (artist), Sotocolor (colors), and Dave Sharpe (letterer)
Hawkeye and the Blonde Phantom are staking out a possible lead on the “Banner Bandit”, where a bunch of guys go into a bank, pretend one of them is Bruce Banner, and threatens to make him Hulk out if they don’t hand over the money. However, the store they’re staking out is about to be robbed. What’s a superhero to do?

She just likes playing with the Pop-O-Matic bubble, really.
She probably doesn’t need Hawkeye to save her, but he’s done with donuts for tonight, so why shouldn’t he have some fun?

Who knew Hawkeye used Nerf arrows?
See, that’s how you do a cocky superhero right.
