I was planning to have this up by now. Then again, I was planning to have my FCBD interview with Dan Dos Santos up by now, too. Still, better late than never. I DID get to see the Avengers movie and with internet connection problems behind me, allow me to finally give my thoughts on a 90+ minute infomercial for shawarma. Oh, and I think there were some superheroes or something.
I would like to add that with the time I had to think about it I think I know why this movie didn’t strike as hard as most other people. It’s not so much that my preference for the DC Universe (pre-Infinite Crisis) turned me against the movie but more like, as I said, this is what I wish a DC superhero movie could be. It’s as serious as it needs to be while still being fun and giving everyone something to do with a bit of growth (even Tony) and I think I spent some time wishing that DC films of recent (including the upcoming Man Of Steel) would go this route. Or at least get some bright colors for Superman’s costume!
