World’s Finest #2
DC Comics/New 52! (August, 2012)
I’ve decided to treat the New 52 as an imprint, even though it’s the main line. It will make it easier to tell apart from earlier comics when I do a “Yesterday’s” Comic review.
“REBIRTH II” WRITER: Paul Levitz PENCILER: George Pérez INKER: Scott Koblish COLORS: Hi-Fi FLASHBACK ARTIST: Kevin Maguire FLASHBACK COLORIST: Rosemary Cheetham LETTERER: Dezi Sienty COVER: George Perez & Hi-Fi EDITOR: Wil Moss HUNTRESS CREATORS: Paul Levitz, Joe Staton, & Bob Layton
Huntress and Power Girl are no match for Hakkou, whom they suspect came from Apokalips, possible after invading Earth-2 and being drawn to Earth-1 with our heroines. Tracking their opponent down again, it looks like this time they may not survive.
What they got right: A good balance of action, exposition, and a bit of fun. I still like that Power Girl is drawn with a more decent bust size, and we get to see how she’s adjusting to the new universe, as we did last issue with Huntress.
What they got wrong: So is Karen’s assistant aware her boss has super powers? There may be a story there, albeit a minor one but still worth showing during seeing Kara form her company.
Recommendation: I’m really enjoying this story. If it doesn’t fail like Justice League International did during it’s second arc this could be a real good series. Give it a look.

Hakkou hated Sliders.
