Some time ago in Japan a scientist was abducted by the government for what I assume is the next story arc. Back in today, a rich jerk has bought the remains of Mechagodzilla and rebuilt it, taking the robot out himself to challenge Godzilla. The Monster Kill Crew find themselves dodging the battle, only to be arrested.

What they got right: The return of Mechagodzilla and I think confirmation that this is in the same continuity as Kingdom of Monsters. The fight is surprisingly good considering the fool piloting Mecha-G.

What they got wrong: The guys who are supposed to be the center of this arc do nothing in this issue and I don’t understand what they were arrested for. Daniel Malmon owned Mechagodzilla fair and square and the Crew aren’t connected to him at any rate. And is the next storyline really going to feature fighting kaiju with a flipping love potion? Please tell me that isn’t how they plan to introduce the Guardian Monster idea.

Recommendation: Worth it for the Godzilla/Mechagodzilla fight but I hope it ends up with a better pilot/crew next time.

I’ve been waiting for this.
