The MetroTitan from the MTMTE Annual arrives underneath Cybertron. As Blurr stops his search for Ironhide and the Dinobots to join Prowl in investigating, Starscream turns it into an opportunity. But a comment by the Titan has Metalhawk lost in thought.

Surrounded by this is the story of how Omega Supreme was introduced to Nova Prime and his merry band, as Dai Atlas begins to disagree with the Prime’s perspective. The creation of Monstructor isn’t helping things much, either.

What they got right: My personal objections aside, I do like that they are trying to build on the Primus legacy and expanding the mythos. Personally, I’ve never cared for the Primus origin story but they make fair use of it. Otherwise the non-flashback continues the current narrative. I also like how Guido Guidi is channeling the first ever issue of the Marvel comic in his art style. It makes me want to see him do more, and he’s already shown himself a good TF artist in the past.

What they got wrong: In the other annual they did a good job of working the flashback into the story. Here this is no connection at all save for Omega Supreme talking to Metalhawk at the end, and that’s a thin connection at best.

Recommendation: Worth it for the backstory, I guess, but not a whole lot here to get excited over. At least give it a look and see if you agree.
