Sonic the Hedgehog #241
Archie Comics (November, 2012)
“Unraveling” WRITER: Ian Flynn PENCILER: Steven Butler INKER: Terry Austin COLORIST: Matt Herm LETTERER: John Workman COVER: Yardley, Austin, Herms, and Peña ASSISTANT EDITOR: Vincent Lovallo EDITOR: Paul Kaminski
Team Fighters catches up to Eggman again, but he infects a Metal Sonic with one of his Krudzu plants. Back in New Mobotropolis, things aren’t going well for Naugus. His mutations are getting worse, the three beings that comprise him are getting snarkier, and efforts to chase off Nicole for good are no longer effective as Rotor’s replacement on the Council convinces them to bring her back. Even Mina is singing her praises again. A new vessel for him to possess might help, but nobody is buying the “need to form a contract” routine…except for one. (spoiled in the Best Scene nomination.
What they got right: What fun watching Ixix Naugus fail time and again, as everything falls apart.
What they got wrong: This should be a Sonic Universe story, since Sonic is barely in this. Instead we get some racing game adaptation that I’ll be reviewing tomorrow.
Recommendation: This probably isn’t the comic to jump in on, but good for fans who know what’s going on.

This was after Geoffrey read Naugus the riot act for his more recent action. I almost feel sorry for the skunk. Almost.
