I wonder if it’s an homage to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games but while it was a fun story it seems like poor time. Maybe if Sonic Universe had made this concept their next four-issue arc instead of these two specials.
The back-up continues events in the main universe as Team Fighters fighting Egg-Swats in the air before finding out that the Echidna Homeland is in bad shape. Meanwhile Knuckles receives a distress signal from the same place. I would have rather seen this as the main story since it has something to do with current events. Plus we see T-Pup acting as Tail’s R2 unit in his plane. I have mentioned how much I like this team-up.
It’s a fun comic, so it’s worth reading. Unlike the Universe story last week it at least has something that moves the current plotline around.
