When another of the Evil Brain’s plots lead to Mark and Abby being switched into each others bodies, it’s the usual insanity plus the fact that Abby’s still pregnant, which means Mark is pregnant. Things aren’t so humorous for Darkblade and Amazonia when it’s finally decided that the Queen must abdicate leading to a fateful decision for Amazonia.
What they got right: Mark & Abby’s story this issue would be typical if not for the addition of Abby’s pregnancy, which becomes Mark’s pregnancy. This gives them something interesting to deal with that counters the drama of Darkblade and Amazonia’s relationship being in jeopardy and the results should make their tale interesting in future installments.
What they got wrong: Personally I wouldn’t have minded to see the Crusader’s fight with the Evil Brain, but it’s not even remotely a dealbreaker. The resolution of the body switch feels a bit too convenient if I have to pick something.
Recommendation: Next issue is the birth of the baby. It should be as good as the rest of the series. Pick this issue up.
