Lately a lot of discussion has going into hero costumes. For example, some people have issues with the “underwear” look, although I always thought it was one piece with one area a different color to break up the look. The armored look kind of works for Batman but looks silly on Superman and ridiculous on the Flash. Then there’s the whole issue about bright versus dark colors, shorts vs. pants, and so on and so on. It’s weird for grown men to be this interested in fashion, isn’t it?
A superhero’s costume/uniform must be functional, to survive in a fight and allow the hero to fight in a style that best suits him or her. In tonight’s fight, Dick Grayson gets a reminder.

“Assassin” round 3
The Battlefield: The Batman Adventures: The Lost Years #2 (DC Comics; February, 1988) “Graduation Day”
The Promoters: Hilary J. Bader (writer), Terry Beatty (inker), Lee Loughridge (colorist) and Tim Harkins (letterer)
Sulking thanks to events in the story, Dick comes across a bunch of hoods attacking a courier. Between his days with the circus and his days as the Boy Wonder, Dick learned to make an entrance.
One problem though: he might not get his t-shirts off of the rack, but I don’t think they were designed for combat.
And that’s not the only thing that isn’t up to martial arts fighting.
So a lot of thought goes into a costume. Unless your Jim Lee, then the thought involves “how can I fit a v-neck color into this outfit?”.
Head to Spacebooger.com by Sunday night to vote for your favorite Friday Night Fight. (Forum membership is only needed to comment, not to vote.) The winners of these 12 rounds head to the Prize Fight so if you have a lot of comics and some posting space feel free to join us. We could use the competition.
