The heroes, joined by three ex-heroes, continue their fight through the prison. The Brain Emperor has assembles his force and takes them to Impact City, leaving Eraser to battle The Shield and the New Crusaders, and one of the kids will not survive.
The back-up feature has the original Fireball reminiscing about his superhero days as he retires from the Red Circle fire department.
What they got right: The first arc introduced the heroes and this arc introduced the villains. You get enough of a look to see what our heroes are going to be up against in miniseries to follow.
What they got wrong: I know why one of the heroes perished, but I think there was still some good character potential lost by that hero’s death. As for the original Fireball’s story, it’s just a
Recommendation: While we’re not getting an ongoing, we are getting a series of miniseries and if they are as good as this one, it’s worth picking up. Also, no Best Scene nomination because this kind of needs to be viewed as a whole.
